Laya Shruthi Vadya Vrindha, Talatharangam, Tala vadya, Tala Mela, Tala sangamam, Tala Mela Tharangam, Layakolam, Jugalbandi, Triveni Sangam (Three Style), North, East, South and West Percussion Fusion, Dance Fusion, Music concerts, Sudhanirtham, Tala oviyam, Laya vadya sangamam, Thannumayin Madhura Muzhakkam, Nadha Sangamam. Tala oviyam is a concert combining both Art and Mridangam.
Vidwan Dr. S. Gopakumar given public performances using Nine Mridangams, which has brought many accolades and laurels. He performed several classical percussion with the accompaniment of folk instruments that disappeared in the antiquity. He had the desire to give more preference to manual percussion instruments and also participated in different kinds of programmes in Temples and Sabhas wherein include folk manual instruments like Nagara, Pambai, Udukai and Ghatasingari.
Keeping the tradition without getting de-linked, the students are encouraged and trained for public performances like Tala Tharangams, Tala Mela and Tala Sangamam using manual folk instruments, which are forgotten by today’s musical world. Tried to bring the lost laurels to these forgotten instruments by bringing them in carnatic concert. Kalaimamani Gopakumar introduced many new talas to the music world and did Pushpanjali, Mallari, Thillana, Alarippu, Kirthanam by using many new talas.
He is the one of the first proud artist to play Mridangam and recite Konnakol simultaneously for Bharathanatyam and Tala Tharangam concerts. He also composed many jathis for Varnams especially for Bharathanatyam.
The latest is the release of Audio album “Laya Madhuram” in which Kalaimamani Gopakumar played both Mridangam and Arumukhanam and also accompanied by various artists in music and dance albums.
